There’s a debate raging on Adliterate about whether London Adland has lost its self confidence.
It started when Richard said that he thinks it has because that YouTube has shown London agencies that other countries (and presumably UK cities) can make good adverts too. Some other people think it might be because there was a recession once, so agencies had to get efficient and accountable.
Somewhere along the way, Albion gets a mention. You know, not because we’ve lost our confidence, but because we haven’t.
Well, I’m not sure if we’re self-confident. And really hope we’re not arrogant. But we are busy. Busy doing lots of interesting things (which will be revealed in a month or so). Some of them look like advertising, and some of them don’t. And we’re having fun doing it.
So what’s our key to being a busy and happy agency in London? Well, all we can tell you is what works for us. It might seem a bit naïve, but our ‘secret’ is:
- Not thinking about advertising, but thinking about ideas and solutions instead.
- Not feeling part of London Adland, but being an agency who are based in London.
- Getting on a doing stuff, rather than constantly debating possible futures or formulating grand plans.
