A distinctive attitude

BlackBerry and Albion started working together way back at the start of 2006. Being tasked with creating ads for such an iconic and innovative brand was perhaps a little daunting. Blackberry is loved and revered by an army of fans, not only for the phenomenal quality of the products but also its unique and distinctive attitude.

While raising the brand’s profile we needed to do justice to BlackBerry’s status as the world’s first and best smartphone, creating a tone of voice that would set the brand apart from your average handset.

Pearl

Never one to rest on their laurels when it comes to product innovation, BlackBerry responded to criticism that their handsets weren’t sexy or slim-line enough with the more-than-a-little-gorgeous Pearl. Albion’s ads for the launch ran across Europe and continued to establish the brand’s personality while evolving the art direction to let the new product design speak for itself. The Pearl is still one of the best selling smartphones on the market.

QWERTY 8800 and Curve

For the launch of the QWERTY 8800 and Curve, Albion created work to run in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Emphasis moved onto functions other than email, broadening the brand’s appeal and once again asserting superiority over the competition.

B2B

In addition to developing consumer comms, Albion works with Blackberry across their B2B platforms. In the ‘Superhuman’ campaign we showed how Blackberry is a true partner to the small business owner by celebrating and championing their tenacity, versatility and downright commitment.
